Morphing Eyes On A Character
Posted in Manipulation on July 1st, 2007 with One response.Ok. Hi. Welcome to this tutorial. I’m going to show you how to bring out the color in dull eyes. This might not seem like much, but it makes a huge impact sometimes. Here is the before and after:

1. Open up a render with dull, dull eyes. In this case, I¡¯m going to use this:

2. Duplicate the layer once.

3. Set the copy layer to screen.

4.Now duplicate the screen layer until you see a nice color come out in the eyes. 3-4 usually does the trick.

5. Merge all the screen layers.

6. You may be asking yourself, ¡°Why the heck am I reading this crap? My pic is messed up and bright.¡±

We¡¯re getting to that. Go to Layer>Layer Mask>Hide All.

7. Now set your main color to white and take out a small hard brush. Zoom in on the eyes and select a soft brush and make sure the size is slightly larger than the pupil. Paint over the irises on the layer mask with white.

8. If you find your eyes are emitting a creepy neon glow, just turn down the opacity of the screen layer.
9. And you¡¯re done! The windows to the soul have just been opened!
